In-Suite Repairs

We recently met with Capreit and delivered the results of the Tenant Association Survey that we took earlier in 2018. As progress is made (or perhaps not made) over the year on issues, we will inform you about it.

We'll start with in-suite repairs. Tenants were dissatisfied with the quality and timeliness of repairs. Anecdotally we have heard of tenants giving up on having repair requests completed. Capreit was very surprised to learn how dissatisfied tenants were with repairs. By the time a tenant gives up on a repair, his or her satisfaction level is quite low. If Capreit isn't pressed to complete a repair, or isn't informed that the repair is not done well, the silence can be mistaken for satisfaction.

Capreit believes the escalation system already in place can ensure that these repairs are carried out to your satisfaction. Why not use the escalation system to get satisfaction as a client of Capreit? Ideally, by escalating repair issues (a) Capreit will do your repairs in a timely manner, and (b) after seeing the increased use of the escalation system Capreit will take measures to ensure that repairs are done more quickly without escalation. This would make living here better for tenants.

If your work order is not done, or not done to your satisfaction, you can escalate it through four steps:

Painting Progress

We appreciate the effort of Capreit to freshen our hallways with new paint. Painting has started. It will take about 6 to 8 weeks to finish. Walls will be painted first, then door frames. Access to units will be needed to paint door frames. Residents will be notified when access to their suite is required to paint the frames. Doors that are not wood will also be painted. More energy efficient and brighter light bulbs will also be installed in hallways.

Please note, the bike room will also be painted. The painters will cover the bikes with drop cloths.
