Security Report

We recently asked tenants to use our Security Reporting page to tell us about security incidents. The reports have been coming in. So far, we have 19 incidents submitted. It is important for you to see the results, so here is the initial report. At this point we’ll just stick with the basics and report the key numbers, and a couple of observations.

As we get more reports in we will have a better sense of what type of security problems happen at the building.

The data here are for all reports we received by December 2, 2019.

Please report security incidents to us. They need to be tracked.

By far the most common security incident was trespassing. It is noteworthy that not all incidents were reported to CAPREIT. This indicates that CAPREIT might be underestimating the number of security incidents at the building and, therefore, also the need for security. It could also indicate that tenants do not think that CAPREIT is genuinely concerned about security.

Next, let's take a look at the days of the week when these incidents happened. The table below shows that by mid-week the incidents ramp up.

Based on the high count of "Not resolved to my knowledge" we can see that there is a lack of feedback to tenants.
